ahhh, nothing like green tea at 6:30 in the evening. yeah, yeah, I know, "Why am I drinking green tea in the evening when I know i have a horrible sensitivity to caffeine?" well, this has been a crazy weekend. it's actually been a crazy few weeks, but that's beyond the point right now. anyway, I have to go see a three hour play tonight (provided I can still buy a ticket to get in), and I need to be able to stay awake. my acting teacher is in the play, and if he happens to catch me sleeping, I'm a dead girl.
so i got into the poetry slam, but i didn't stand a chance against the other people in it. My poetry is a little different...maybe not slam-worthy. Everyone liked what I did, but I didn't make it past the 1st round. that's ok, though. all of the stuff that's been happening has made for some great poetry, most of which is now on my site. now if i could only find the means to make it look cooler...
drama drama drama....that's all i can really say. i'd tell you all about it, but i have my reasons for not doing so. 1) I only have a few minutes to sit here and type and drink my tea, then I'm off to the play. 2) Going through all of this drama is just going to bring up all of these crazy rants that i'm oh-so-famous for. ranting puts my keyboard through unbelievable stress, and i really don't want to have to buy a new keyboard. they're expensive. 3) reliving drama when it's still so fresh in my mind puts my body through enormous strain. and since i'm still going through some of this drama, i've been nothing but tired, drained, and exhausted. it sucks.
so i'm done with my reasons. hey, have you ever noticed how when something colossal or dramatic happens, everything that happened before it seems like it was 3 years ago instead of three weeks? i mean, seriously: do you remember what you were doing on September 10? Hey, maybe you do. But doesn't it feel like 6 years ago instead of 6 months? There were times right after the 11th that i had completely forgotten about the Michael Jackson concert that I had been to merely 4 days before. And that was, like, the concert event of the century!
there was another thing i was thinking about in the midst of all this recent drama I've been through. remember that part in Men In Black where Tommy Lee Davis talks about all of the things that people "knew" at different times in our history? he says something like, "(x amount) of years ago, we 'knew' that the world was flat. (x amount) of years ago, we 'knew' that we were the only planet in the solar system. and up until today, you 'knew' that we were the only beings in this universe. imagine what you'll 'know' tomorrow." and if you take a second to consider that, you'll really think about it. up until 9-11, we "knew" that the US was immune from an attack by another nation. up until a few weeks ago, my friends and i "knew" that your parents will accept you for who you are, no matter what. (a hint to some of the drama going on)
hmmm....imagine what we'll "know" tomorrow.......
