That's where I'm at today with work and this job. I'm over it. Can you believe that they're playing "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" in the break room right now? It's part of the Cinco de Mayo "fiesta" they're having. Maybe I'll go grab a virgin margarita, take it out back and spike it. That will make getting through today easier. Why are weekends so short? We're 1/3 done with the run of Shoestring and I haven't cried yet. I'll probably lose it at the cast party. Man, I hate it when they do events at work with free food. People always encourage you to eat. I never want to. Cheesy office events drvive me nuts. They feel so forced. We had a Superbowl "party" and a March Madness "shootout." Dear Dad, Who knows why I'm putting this in my ancient blog? Why I'm posting it to the internet. Shouting into the void and simultaneously preserving this forever. I guess it's the easiest way to get my thoughts down. Typing can be easier than writing, and it helps me get the words out faster without editing myself. I think about you every day, and I feel like I have more questions than answers, Something moved me to fire up the blog and write, so here I am. It's been a little over seven months since you've been gone. Thinking about the days and months and years leading up to that point feel like a temporal version of the Stations of the Cross. I don't know where the Beginning of the End actually sits in that timeline, but Christmas feels like a good starting point. The last Christmas that we all spent together. 366 days* of insanity...and counting!

So I settled into my daily internet routine of checking e-mail, Facebook, MySpace, Failblog, etc., when I realized that it was exactly one year ago today that I officially arrived in South Florida to make it my new home. And as always, a lot of stuff has changed in one whole year. When I got down here, I had no job. A year later, I'm on job number 2. (But have no fear...I'm intent on staying at this one for a while. Really. I promise. That's the plan, ok?) When I got down here, my trusty and beloved tank (aka my '98 Corolla) had no problems adjusting to the heat and gave me very little trouble. Until the door latch fell apart in a parking lot 2 months ago, forcing me to re-attach it with masking tape and drive home at a maximum speed of 45 mph lest the tape fail and the door flew open.
