Some February freestyling...

...or Leap Day lyrical stylings, if you will.

The following is a freestyled IM that I sent my sister last Friday after returning from some errand for work. For background, I'll let you know that the two of us dubbed last month "Emobruary" due to all of the random maladies and misfortune that we encountered over those 29 wretched days. Anyway, here it goes:

backety back back back like the mack that i am/ rockin' on a friday and i don't give a damn/ cuz the weather's warm and the sun is sunny/ and i'm just freestylin cuz i think it's funny/ and i figure you could use a laugh and a smile/ it's somethin' you haven't done in quite awhile/ later we'll be at hard rock/ networkin' and manhuntin'/ separate the ballers from the ones just frontin'/ so be glad it's friday/ TGIF/ and jus kick back and chill/ cuz my rhymes are so def!

I achieved the desired effect of making my sister smile. Just thought I'd share it with y'all.

BTDubs, if you've stumbled upon this blog and you're currently living in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, or Vermont, you have a huge responsibility on your hands. Your state primaries are tomorrow, and I'm sure you already know how important it is to get to the polls and vote. I'd get into all the reasons why you should vote for Barack Obama instead of Clinton or McCain, but I'm at work and I still have tons of crap to do. The most important thing is that you get to the polls and sound off, no matter which candidate you're backing.

P.S. If anyone thinks I'm an Obamaniac simply because he gives awesome speeches, be not fooled. I did my homework and research and watched the debates and came to this decision on my own within the past few months. I resent the sentiment from the Clinton camp that I'm on Obama's side simply because I've been swept up in the "phenomenon." He's for real, his policy is for real, and we need real change. So there.

P.P.S. Did anyone else out there practically shit a brick last week when Alaina and Alexandrea were voted off American Idol? Insanity. Absolute insanity.

Aight, back to work. And in the words of my sister, "...the midnight hour is close at hand...Texas and Ohio, don't fuck this up!"
