Sunday Snow Day
Ah f^%!. Forgot to pay the gas bill! Hold on.
Why do I always remember to pay my bills when I'm about to blog?
Anyway...
I went shopping yesterday with all of the other crazed and panicky people who hoard bottled water and canned goods before a storm. I had a list of stuff I was supposed to get, and then I went a little crazy. My thought process kinda went like this:
"Ok, let's review the list before I go into the store. Salt, milk, pretzels, saltines, blah blah blah. Got it. I will stick to the list. Here we go. Oh look! Chocolate chip cookies from the bakery! These will be awesome for all of the movies we're going to watch tonight. And they're on sale! Awesome! Ok. So we're running low on bread, I'll pick up another loaf in case we want grilled cheese sandwiches. Oh! I should pick up cheese slices since we only have the cheddar bricks in the fridge. Excellent. Milk: I should get a half gallon. Hmmm...a half gallon's a lot of milk for us. Oh! I'll grab some hot cocoa mix so we'll drink more of the milk. Oooooooo...Ghiradelli hot cocoa mix. And spiced chai mix too?!? Hook it up! Now we'll totally use all of the milk I just bought. Back to the list. Pretzels. Got it. Pretzels...and I'll pick up a bag of chips too. Should I get tortilla chips and salsa? Nah. Not on the list. Yum...Twizzlers cherry bites. Must have those for the movies. Moving on then. List. Yes. Salt. That's in the baking needs aisle with....brownie mix. How awesome would it be to bake some brownies? Let's check the box and see what I need. Baking pan, eggs, oil. I know we have vegetable oil (because Andre never uses it...only olive oil). Do we still have eggs? I'll grab those on the way out. I don't think we have a baking pan. I'll get one of those. Oh yeah, the salt. Can't forget that. Back to the snacky food aisle for the crackers. Here's the Cheez-Its that Andre wanted, and here's the saltines...oh! Oh! Awesome idea! I'll pick up these oyster crackers too and then we'll have them for the tomato soup! We only have 2 cans of tomato soup. I'll pick up some more. 4 pack of tomato soup, check. Almost done. Back to the eggs for the brownies. You know what goes good with brownies? Ice cream - and hot fudge. Sad day! No Edy's slow churned? I guess store brand will have to do this time. And let's not forget that hot fudge! Now what was I really supposed to be getting? Oh yeah, eggs for the brownies. And I think we still have some at the house, so I'll only pick up a half dozen. And I'll pick up some bacon for the eggs so we can have eggs and bacon for breakfast tomorrow. Ok. Did I get everything on the list? Yup. Aight, let's go."
Yeah, it was kinda crazy.
We got about a foot of snow. Andre shoveled the back lot with our downstairs neighbor, and Jason's shoveling the front right now. I'm enjoying being a girl and staying inside where it's nice and warm and dry. I'll do something productive later.
Last night we stayed up and drank beer and played Phase 10 aka awesomest card game ever, and then watched EuroTrip. Today I watched the first 4 episodes of Freaks and Geeks...I bought the complete DVD set yesterday.
So our Sunday Snow Day is drawing to a close and I'm kinda bummed since I know I'm headed back to work tomorrow.
GRE Update: Got a solid score on the verbal, but I bombed the math section. Hopefully all will work out ok and I'll still get into Emerson.
Ok, really must do something seriously productive before my roommates hate me for the rest of their days. Or at least I'll brush my teeth.
Peace out and happy shoveling!
