growing up sucks.
really, it does. i just got back from lunch with rena, one of my best friends from high school. she's moving to virginia next week with her 1 1/2 year old daughter and her sister who's going to start college. i'm hoping everything works out well for her and the baby...i know it's going to be ok, but i can't help worrying. i didn't realize how hard it was going to be to say goodbye to rena...but i guess it makes sense that it was. she was the first person at my new high school to really welcome me and make me feel a little better about moving halfway across the country. that was 5 years ago. holy crap, 5 years...it doesn't feel like it's been that long. but i guess that's a part of growing up, realizing that people grow up and move away. i mean, you can't stay home forever. well, you can, but you really wouldn't experience life that way. at least move across town or something. or maybe i just feel that way because i'm not used to things staying the same for a long time. i'm going into my 4th year at rutgers and i feel like i'm never going to be done...the longest i've been at a school is 3 years.
but i'm rambling....
at this very second, exactly 2 weeks from now, i'll be in scotland. how fricking awesome is that? the one event that i've been waiting for since november and it's actually, finally going to happen! yay!
the bad news: phil starts school the day before i get back from scotland. and andre turns 21 that same day. how unfair is that? not only will i miss sending my best friend off on his easton ave. birthday bar crawl (6 more months, dammit), but i won't get to see my boyfriend as soon as i'm back on american soil. :0( but i know that we'll work something out...we always do. :0)
well, i just felt like jotting a few things down before i go to work (heh heh heh). next week i'll be in rehearsals for the show, and my life will pretty much be devoted to that for the next month or so. enjoy the rest of your summer, kids. i'll be back in the fall with all sorts of anecdotes from Scotland and my usual rantings about RU life. Toodles!
