Live From 22 States, It's Suuuuuuper Tuesday!!

Hey y'all!

If you live in one of the Super Tuesday states and have already cast your vote, you may proceed directly to the next paragraph. If you live in a Super Tuesday state and have NOT cast your vote... *POW!* That's my hand smackin' the hell outta the back of your head. *SMACK!* That's the other hand goin' crost your face. *BOOM!* That's the sound of my size 7 1/2 Doc Marten steel-toe boots connecting with your behind. *RIP!* That's the sound of you getting the worst wedgie of your life times infinity. I do this out of love, mind you, because you need to learn that we all need to be a part of what is going on in the world right now. We (meaning young people) are more than MySpace, more than YouTube, more than hip hop, more than texting, more than video games, so much more than our contemporary celebrities...we are bigger and better than that and we have so much power to bring about change right now! Ok, if you registered recently enough that you weren't able to vote today but you're cleared for November, I'll leave off the wedgie. The rest of it is still in effect because you should have been registered sooner.

So tonight is Super Tuesday, and the first set of polls closed roughly 10 minutes ago. I'll be following the coverage on CNN tonight between commercial breaks of American Idol. (Before you call me a hypocrite, may I remind you that I voted in last week's Florida primary even though it didn't count for anything, and I have been extremely vocal about getting to the polls. So I'm allowed to watch Idol. So there.) Can I just say how exciting this is going to be? I mean, this is history in the making, and it's something that we can all be proud of and something that we can tell our children and grandchildren about that doesn't involve death and destruction.

We are witnessing monumental change in progress.

Originally I had said that I was not going to reveal who my pick is for the Presidential race. However, I realized that my coverage of Super Tuesday and the rest of this whole process will undoubtedly be biased in one way or another based on who I feel should be running the country in 2009. So, in the interest of full disclosure, I will tell you who I am officially endorsing (at this particular moment) for the White House: Senator Barack Obama.

(Hey, if you don't agree, you have 2 choices: go somewhere else or get your ass out and vote differently.)

I'll be perfectly honest. Way back in the day, I was stoked that Hilary Clinton was elected senator of New York, and the possibility of her becoming the first woman president of the US was really exciting. I was or Hilary all the way. But over the past year I've been reading more and watching debates and personally reflecting, and I decided that I don't want her in the White House. She has too much unfinished business from Bill's time in office that she wants to take care of. And while that's great and all, it's not what we need right now. We need a complete and total regime change.

That brings me to Barack Obama.

He is an amazing person. He's managed to stay above all of the nonsense that opponents (and straight out haters) have thrown at him. He's someone who has garnered the support and respect of people from all walks of life in this country. He truly wants to bring about a new era in America, one where we can be truly proud to be Americans again.

But what about the policies? Oh, please believe that I'm not turning this into a beauty contest. My personal beliefs and desires are more in tune with what Obama has been saying than what Clinton has been saying.

So there.

Anyway, the next round of polls close in roughly 20 minutes (it's now almost 7:40 eastern time), so let's take a look at what's going down right now.

On the Democratic side, CNN is projecting Obama as the winner in Georgia by a huge margin. As for the Republicans, it's too close to tell right now between McCain and Huckabee.

I'll be back in a little while to update on the 2nd round of polls closing as well as the official results from Georgia start to roll in.

If you're catching this as it happens, awesome. Stay tuned! If you're reading this after the fact, well, stick around and read the rest of the coverage. You might be entertained. Or inspired.
